Family History is Fun

I enjoy learning about my forefathers. I like to know what they were like, how they thought, and why they made the decisions that affected their lives and families. Somehow it helps me understand myself better. I learn of their character and strengths and it inspires me to be the kind of person they would be proud of.

As I raise my own children, I wonder what influences I've had that will endure through their lives and their children and their children. I wonder if a great, great grandchild will be interested in me and what I have left behind that is of interest to them. I don't know, but the course of life and generations is humbling.

So I've presented here the ancestors of my children. The Scovilles, Offgreens, Haurands, and Biehls. Maybe you don't see it all now, but I'll be adding more over time. The men, women herein are our forefathers who carved out a way of life and a way of living that set the tone for our own lives. They left a heritage for us to follow; they prepared a path of spiritual and moral living; they made it easy for us to follow the Lord; and they made our lives more comfortable. This website is my small effort to honor my forefathers by sharing stories of their remarkable dedication to God and their families. We all can honor them by learning from their sacrifices, their valor, their faithfulness and following in their footsteps.

May we too, walk with "Faith in Every Footstep."

I hope you enjoy reading about your ancestors. I would like to hear from you, if you have any suggestions or corrections.
